Getting down to business

Our team met on Feb. 16 to go over what we learned at Northeast Link II. We talked about host gifts, trinkets for kids, luggage and lots more. On our shopping spree looking for blazers we whipped through Burlington Coat Factory, L.L.Bean, Talbots, TJMaxx, and Target. We got some good ideas but Amy and Gabriela will check out other area outlet malls for the best deal. We missed Anna for sure, but Gabriela, Amy, Annie and I enjoyed lunch at one of the best Mexican restaurants around, Baja in Orange. The owner, Bob Rose, took our photo. A good time was had by all!

Team Workshop

Our team attended Northeast Link II on Feb. 2 in Sturbridge, MA, where we met Ambassadorial Scholars and GSE Outbound teams from all over the East Coast. Ambassador Paul Taylor explained that as ambassadors representing our Rotary clubs and the United States we would be spreading peace through diplomacy. RIVP Mike McGovern continued on the theme of our being ambassadors for our communities, our country, and Rotary. PDG Alan Hurst suggested we be alert to humanitarian projects with Matching Grant potential. Here three members of Team 7980 talks at lunch with past team leaders learning what to pack, how to build a team, and best ways to learn about the Mexican culture.
